Being Reformed in 2008
Under one of these subheadings, it's a good idea to list recent updates to my site so that visitors, especially return visitors, can check out the new stuff first. For example, I could list the date and a brief description of the update.
I could also list updated news about my site's topic. For example, if my site were about a particular sport, I'd could discuss the outcome of a recent competition.
The Season Has Begun To Change For ME...
It's A New Season... Some will mixed.. Some will be neutral....
Regardless of what season it is, just be Prepared!
A time to kill, and a time to heal;
A time to break down, and a time to build up;
A time to weep, and a time to laugh;
A time to mourn, and a time to dance."
Ecclesiastes 3:3,4.
Then Jesus told this parable: A man had a fig tree, planted in his vineyard, and he went to look for fruit on it, but did not find any. So he said to the man who took care of the vineyard, "For three years now I've been coming to look for fruit on this fig tree and haven't found any. Cut it down. Why should it use up the soil?" "Sir," the man replied, "leave it alone for one more year, and I'll dig around it and fertilize it. If it bears fruit next year, fine. If not, then cut it down"..................
There's been a great deal more of Sunshine for me & it feels good!
You cannot enter a new season unless you have discovered that the season that you have made yourself comfortable in has passed.....Seasons change in the midst of... Like now.. in this January 2008, there has been 70 degree weather. So that is a mixed season.. You take off.. but you leave what you may need, not at home but in the car.. So while you are out experiencing this "unexpected" seasonal change, you have the ability to change in case the season does. Therefore, that is what it is and has been all about for me, in me and through me in these last 6 months.. Seasonal change to prepare me for the harvest that has been promised and is to come...
I thank God for the new seasons...because my soul has caught on fire!
Through All of the Pulling..Bruising.. Being Misunderstood.. I Still Have JOY!
Even if I don't put much text on my home page, it's a good idea to know that I still have JOY! The most important thing is that I stay on what I am writing a book on and that is The Wheel of Hope!

Matthew 5:29-30 (King James Version); Read Matthew Chapter 5
And if thy right eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell.....And if thy right hand offend thee, cut it off, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell.....
Pain and Freedom
Rarely do we associate something negative with something that is positive. When we think of pain, suffering and distress comes to mind. Pain is an unpleasant sensation occurring in varying degrees of severity as a consequence of injury, disease, or emotional disorder. Pain is something that we would rather not deal with. Pain can be physical or mental, but no matter what type of pain we experience it still hurts.
Freedom, on the other hand, can bring one joy. Freedom allows us to be free from restraints. Freedom involves liberty of a person from slavery, detention, or oppression. Freedom gives an individual the right to exercise choice or free will. Freedom is the desire of every human being because we want the right or the power to engage in certain actions without control or interference.
Pain and freedom stand on opposite sides of the fence, but today we want to see how these two go hand in hand.
In the context of our verses Jesus is teaching and preaching to a large crowd in an event known as the blessed sermon on the mountain. Jesus was becoming popular and large crowds would follow Him and His disciples around. Jesus took advantage of these situations by teaching and preaching to the large audiences. When we see that we have an influence over individuals we too should take advantage by guiding them in the right direction and sharing with them who leads us in the right direction. In our text Jesus teaches about lust, but the principle He uses to handle lust is universal and can be applied to any temptation or sin we fall in.
Jesus tells the crowd the way to handle sin is by plucking out your eye or cutting off your hand. There are some things that should be taken literally in the bible, and there are some things that should not. When we understand the character and nature of God and His word, then we will be able to determine how to interpret His word correctly. Here in our passage Jesus does not literally mean that we pluck out our eyes or cut off our hands. The Hebrews were accustomed to represent the affections of the mind by the members or parts of the body. Paul said in Romans 6:13, Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God.
The members of the body Jesus uses here are the eyes and hands, why? Well, think about all the members of your body and think about those members that are used the most. I think that we would all agree that the eyes and hands are of most use to us. Try to get around without your eyes or hands, so Jesus uses these to represent our strongest passions, habits, and evil desires. These are the sins that we just can't see ourselves parting with. These are the relationships that we know are wrong, but we just can't seem to break loose from. These are the habits that we have done so long that they have become ingrained in our lives. These represent the unforgiving hearts that just can't seem to show grace toward the individual that has done them wrong, but all of these are the things that Jesus tells us to pluck out and cut off.
If one was to literally pluck out their eyes and cut off their hands it would be very painful and excruciating, just as it would be for us to cut off some of our sins. Somebody may wonder why would it be so painful to get rid something we know can cause us harm and lead to death? If satan made sin look the way it does then he wouldn't have much pull to get us to sin, instead he doesn't show us the full picture and makes sin look good, therefore we become mentally trapped and when it's time to get rid of that particular sin it becomes painful. Some of our sins have become so ingrained in our lives that it hurts us to let them go, but if we endure this pain it will lead to our freedom.
The only way to experience spiritual freedom is by enduring some pain. Jesus says that it is profitable to lose one member of your body than to lose the whole body and be cast into hell. In other words, it will be to our advantage when we let go of those sins that seem good and hard to let go, than to live a life of sin and perish. Girl, I know you think he is fine and has a good job, but he's not going to church and not even thinking about a relationship with Jesus, it may hurt, but you have to let go. I know you may have won a few scratch off games, but that isn't how God wants to bless you, you have to let go.
Pain and freedom, yes they go together and if we want to live a free life in Christ we are going to have to let go of some things that may hurt to do so, but we will be so much better for doing so. What pain must you endure so that you can be free? Amen. and Amen....
